Abo-Gogo
Abo-Gogo is a piece I had made paying homage to south African traditional healing practitioners.

In the artwork, three figures are positioned amongst the mist Like three deities showing their presence. Their presence is shown over a house which symbolises the house that is used for consultations called Indumba.

"Sangomas are called to heal, and through them, it is believed that ancestors from the spirit world can give instruction and advice to heal illness, social disharmony and spiritual difficulties. Traditional healers work in a sacred healing hut or indumba, where they believe their ancestors reside."
-Wikipedia

Now in traditional healing practices of South Africa, there are three classified healers. 1. Isangoma (also referred to as the divineruse divination to determine the cause of illness), 2. Inyanga (also referred to as the herbalist -mainly prescribes traditional medical remedies for treatment of illness), and 3. Umthandazi (also referred to as the faith healer -mainly uses water and prayer, sometimes ash and salt may be included in the healing process).

In my artwork I may or may have not correctly or entirely and fully represented that different classes also reflected in the clothes but the ones I have made reference to here are one that are more mainstream.
